NOFX

So Long and Thanks for the Shoes: 80

NOFX have mastered the genre of punk. With a voice to the likes of Blink 182 (only better), they write about relevent subjects that matter to them. Their music varies in intensity, and the counter melodies set NOFX into another genre of punk. They draw from many influences, namely punk, but also reggae, barbershop quartet, and ska. Each song rocks in its different way, and throughout the CD they change the melodies. This is as pure 90s punk as you'll ever find. They told the big record labels to screw off, and NOFX would rather settle into punk obscurity. The thing is that it isn't obscurity because they have such a large following of hardcore fans, which is growing. All I've had to do was let my friends listen to the disc, and they have gone out and bought it. Their music sells itself. I went to their concert and it was one of the best club concerts I've ever been to. The place was sold out, and fans were milling around the entrance asking if anyone had extra tickets. Sorry, but used CD shops won't have their music because once you buy a NOFX CD, you never leave the band. If you've never heard of them, you have now, so go buy the CD you punks!!!
