Bjork

Homogenic: 73

She is one of the revolutionary women who are throwing down the pop beat to explore her voice, and express real emotions that don't come in a user friendly package. I didn't gravitate especially to her, as her experiments were interesting, but her voice didn't grab me like others. Ex. Portishead, Tori Amos. Her background consists of heavy static or bass filled backbeats to violins. I think that she has expanded to a more effective format than people like Mariah Carey. This c.d. keeps the listener interested, and has been worthy of all the praise it has already gotten.
