Blur

Blur: 70

This is the disc that put Blur mainstream, and I thought I would check it out. I payed $18 for this disc complements of Blockbuster who shouldn't be in music any ways. Everyone should boycott this store because it's simply one of the worst priced discs that you could ever buy. I'm never going there again. Bunch of con artists. Any ways, now for the music. The first two songs, evidently their singles are awesome (Beetlebum & Song 2), but then the disc takes a different twist. It becomes less mainstream, more experimental, and harder to appreciate. It took me a lot of listens to appreciate the next five songs, but now I enjoy them and they have something interesting to offer. Some decent melodies, and interesting twists. The last five songs or so, I gave up on because I just don't like them, and I feel that the group ran out of ideas at this point. It's not a very well balanced disc, but they offer some good stuff that combats the negative factors. A good disc, but the mainstream listener should be wary because this isn't a poppy group. More alternative once you get under their skin. I got it, but now it's your turn to decide.
