Coal Chamber

Coal Chamber

Rip the cob-webs away and get ready to rock. Coal Chamber’s fusion of hardcore rhythm, grungy (and definitely not in the "Seattle" grungy-sense) guitar, and animalistic vocals make for one damn good intense record. The music by Megs Rascon, Rayna, and Mike Cox is fully thick and extremely heavy. Dez Fafara does a solid job on vocals and as a whole, Coal Chamber manages to pull off a good effort. Although Coal Chamber exudes much of the same power and sound as Korn, they do so in their own way. Coal chamber’s sound tends to be more straight forward rock, whereas Korn embraces far more funk and hip-hop elements. Coal Chamber is at it’s best on songs like "Loco", "I", "My Frustration", and "Dreamtime". The songs really rock. Their aggression and heaviness are truly commendable. Coal Chamber is a very strong album that fans of super-heavy music are sure to dig. - Ben Reed
