The Doors

Now this band is one of a kind. The first sign of music expressing angry thoughts. Morrision was awesome and seriously changed music. The lyrics are the best by any band that I have listened to. The band surrounding him is also great. This music will never end because it’s universal. They mean so much and just seem to flow. If you aren’t going to take any of my advice then this the most valuble. Expand your tastes because those who seek will find. There is a lot of great stuff out there, but restricting yourself to one generation seems stupid. See what the other generations went through and you’ll be impressed, not including the 80’s that is. Just a great band that everyone to listen to. Every single person in the band are top class musicians. Let your wild side out and get The Doors Greatest Hits. You won’t regret it.

The Doors Box Set: 92

This is everything that you could ever possibly want from The Doors. This box set showcases all of their classics, almost all of the rarities, and some awesome concerts. Especially notable is the Isle of Whyte performance, and a decent New York performance. The band favorites c.d. has some great songs and in my books is one of the best compilations ever made for The Doors. There are a lot of rare pieces that are sometimes interesting, and sometimes a drag to listen to. What makes the set worth buying is that there are some excellent recordings of many songs, which have such a high intensity, superb musicianship, and everything is recorded beautifully. Fans no longer have to go through the pain of listening to some awfully recorded bootleg, which for me is a major bonus. This is a great summary of the band's career, and shows people who aren't fans why so many people love The Doors. I think everyone has to respect Jim Morrison's music and buy this set. There is no question about it, that this box set is a must get for all music fans.

Robby Krieger Organization: RKO Live! 74

It took me a while to get past the no Jim, no music thing with the other band members. I've gotten over it, and I think that each band member of The Doors were great artists with talent abounds. Robby Krieger is a great guitar player, one of my favorites actually. He does some great blues work, and also does some Doors songs with heavily laden guitar work. His vocals are average, and simply pick out the melody quickly and then he goes into his guitar work. I enjoy this c.d. mainly for its guitar contributions, and I think other people should recognize Robby as an artist.
