I can respect that old Garth has some talent as he sings a fine song. He and his band have a somewhat varied style as he performs both ballads and upbeat numbers alike. However, his music is a bit unnatural. Many of the rockers are a bit overblown as Gart and the overall sound give an over anxious impression. On the ballads, the overall mix is too pop oriented. Country music is supposed me written from the heart and soul and many of the numbers just sound too pre-planned with not enough of a country flavor that I was expecting. The last number, Ireland is a great exception to that as the vocal style and the supporting music creates beautiful imagery. Some of the other songs are written well. But the overall Top 40 arrangement style makes this a luke warm recording in my eyes.
