Dave Matthews and Tim
Reynolds "Live at Luther
College"

I'm a Luther, Baby

Review by HI-FI LUC

Go into this review knowing that when it comes to
reviewing anything in a 6-degrees connection of Dave
Matthews or members of his band I am completely biased
on.

With that said, the new double CD in the collection of live
performances the band is releasing over time and in
between studio albums was released and it's called "Dave
Matthews & Tim Reynolds : Live at Luther College".
What's that you ask? "Who the heck is Tim Reynolds? I
thought he was one of those Grand Jury guys in the Clinton
scandal." Nope, he's a guitar playing friend of Dave's who
he plays guitar with on the side of the Dave Matthews
Band. This is Dave Matthews minus the band. A show with
just Dave, Tim, two acoustic guitars, an attentive
audience, and a more intimate show.

It's a show that spans over the length of 2-CD's that makes
for great listening. You get to hear Dave Matthews Band
songs as well as getting to tune in to a couple of other
great tracks.

Without playing to a screaming audience and without the
band, the show is a bit quiter. Which is not a negative
thing. The renditions of such popular songs as "What
Would You Say" and "Ants Marching" even take on new
lives in the comfort of the Luther College performance.

I have enjoyed the two CD's and found they make for great
listening and an interesting addition to my collection. "Live
at Luther" is a wonderful way to follow up the last live
album "Live at Red Rocks" which was released over a
year ago and I anxiously await the next release.
