Neil Young

Harvest Moon: 88

This is an excellent showcase of Young's musical worth. He has something to offer everyone through his soul searching, pensive singing. He's a master of the melody with many great tunes. This album shows his acoustic guitar side that I deem one of the best examples of acoustic music. A great album that anyone who wants a treat should jump for this album. One of his classics.

Mirror Ball: 85

I love this album. It has such neat ideas and excellent musicianship. It is fully enjoyable once you get use to his voice. Unfortunately his voice is constantly being overpowered by the guitars. I think that many may hate it, but this is the kind of album that I search for. Good guitar solos, reasonable singing, and a good back up band. This was created with Pearl Jam, and is very interesting mix of the old and new music, but really Neil Young is timeless. I went to one of his concerts and the range of people was from pre- teens to near retired. His music means so much to many that he will be repeated over and over. He has done so many albums, that I think I’ll only do my favorites. Some experiments like this one click for him, while others bomb, and this is part of being a musician.

Sleeping With Angels: 70

This album has a couple of great songs that are classics, however it should be used only with occasional listenings. It is great just to every once in a while pull out this C.D and give it a listen. Give it a try. It didn't grab me at first, but I realise that it has some great qualities to it.

I went to one of his concerts a while ago and it rocked. The opener was Moist at the Saddledome and it was a show that couldn't be missed. He played so many classics, that reminds me that everyone should be a Neil Young fan. Combining with Crazy Horse creates a mean combonation of guitar jams. It was one of the better concerts that I have been to and I would like to recommend that if he comes to where you live, go see the concert. It's amazing!!!!!!!
