The only way to listen to Phish is live and this is a good example. A good album with some interesting experimentation and rocking fun. It’s worth it, and is one of their best albums. Their studio work is poor and doesn’t show what kind of band Phish is. Don’t get scared off by it being a double album. If you like the Grateful Dead, then this is a comparison, but still not as good as the Dead. They are a great jam band.
Concert Experience: I recently went to their concert and it was one of the best I've ever been to. They have a great song base and I just can't get enough of their guitar solos. Just magical. Anyways the whole concert was a highlight, but I thought the most unusual song was Isabelle by Jimi Hendrix. The singing was short and sweet and the solos long and powerful. It was really long and we even had intermition. The culture is really groovy with everyone in dreads and everyone had some body part pierced. Really peaceful, druggy crowd. Definetly worth every penny of the ticket cost.
