Smashing Pumpkins

Siamize Twins: 68

I’ll admit it that I’m not a Smashing Pumpkins fan, but they are worth a try. Their novelty doesn’t rub off on me like a lot of people. The thing that pisses me off about them is not their hit singles, but the other songs that they create. They don’t go anywhere and just drift on and on and on. Corgan bugs me when he screams and yells. I don’t want to listen to a whining kid crying over how much his life sucks. The songs that get put on the radio are decent and I respect them, but the pain of only listening to half of a C.D is just too much. For those who buy records just to get their one special song this is the band for you because you won’t want to listen to the rest. Give them a try, they are bloody famous, but they sure haven’t impressed me. Why resort to such boredom and tiresome music combined with some wicked songs. I have a bootleg of them playing their good songs, and it is exciting and good music. I just don’t know if it is worth the money. I certainly won’t buy their collection.

Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness: 63

I know why they called it this. To torcher the listener with useless screaming. There are a few good songs, but the other songs aren't as high up on the listening scale. The Smashing Pumpkins legion of droned fans are probally going to get me, but frankly I could care less. Come on, give me some hate mail. It's always a pleasure. This is a waste of money and it basicly sucks. I am still amazed that it was the best selling 2 C.D set ever. There are so many better sets that I can’t even list all of them.

Adore: 75

Finally a cd that I can appreciate from the talented trio. This disc highlights Corigan's voice which is tolerable, and enjoyable most of the time. The mood is more depressing, soul searching, and reflective. There isn't really any anger, as our old friend Billy seems to be tired of getting pissed off at everything. The concerts should be really interesting because all you can do is watch them. The audience can't dance to it or mosh to it. It should be interesting. This disc finally had a constant effort with less glamor, and more thought.
