Being There: 81

Very simple music that works, but doesn’t get any credit. This double has become a staple in my music listening. It applies to everyday life and it's easy to relate to the lyrics and built up tension. The music signifies feelings and emotions and that is the most important component when making music. I think that this double album has some great songs on it, but the listener needs to be patient at times and bear through some of their songs. I think this is because it was poorly mixed and they didn't balance their songs well enough. It could have been a better album, but how it stands leaves it worthy. It takes a while to get use to their style because we are so use to hard hitting, loud music. They have decided to not compete in the shouting match and I think that's really cool. The major drawback to this album is that it's poorly mixed. It is very light with the acoustic guitar as a backing. I listen to it once a week, so I can definitely say that it has passed the test with me, and I can’t wait to go to their up and coming concerts.
