Velvet Underground or Lou Reed

What I will tell you is that he's a great poet and his lyrics are more important than his musicianship.

Party Animal: 70

This has Heroine on it which is one of the best songs ever!!! I really love this song, but the other parts get tiresome because he doesn’t really believe in singing, but speaks with a background going. Some people like it, but I was rather disappointed.

Magic and Loss: 60

You get lost in his whirlwind of his almost trippy music. It appeals, but not worth ten dollars. It’s all right, but could be improved. I have the same comment of his style. It’s different, but annoying to me.

New Sensations 67 For the most part, this record is guitar, bass, and drums with an occasional keyboard and/or special effect thrown in. No outstanding solos here. And the vocals? Well, lets just say Lou Reed recites his music for the most part in tune. So you're probably wondering why do I give this record a better than average grade? Mainly because the songs are well crafted especially the lyrics which describe a wide assortment of characters that Mr. Reed has come across. The band also adds some interesting rhythms which complement the music and limited vocal style of Mr. Reed. Whereas this music is not mind blowing, it is somewhat creative in a nondescript way.
